Internet Use Policy
Our internet use policy on our three computers for public use is as follows:
The internet is available to all our patrons, but we may restrict this service at any time for not staying within these guidelines. Parents or guardians of minor children must assume responsibility for their children’s use of the library’s internet service. Everyone must sign a log-in chart before beginning their session.
The user will be held responsible for his/her actions using the internet. Unacceptable uses of the service would be anything considered illegal and will result in a suspension of internet use privileges. Suspension will be one week of no internet use, and a second suspension will result in 2 weeks of no internet use; a third will result in no longer being able to use the internet in the library.
The library cannot assure that data or files downloaded by users are virus-free. The use of the internet and email cannot be guaranteed to be private.
Patrons may use the internet for research or homework, or recreational needs. If someone uses the internet for something illegal, they will be reported to the proper authorities.
Internet use is offered for 30-minute sessions on a first come basis. Each user is allowed one 30-minute session per day. If no one is waiting the user may have another 30 minutes, result in a 1-hour limit.
Users will respect and not abuse the use of the internet.
Users will respect the rights and privacy of others by not accessing private files. This also would be cause for internet usage to be canceled.
